PetSpa FAQ

What to Expect

Is there anything I need to bring with me to get started?
Yes. We require proof of vaccination before beginning any grooming service:

  • Dogs must have proof of current Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines
  • Cats must have proof of current FVRCP and Rabies vaccinations

What are your health and safety requirements?
For the health and safety of your pet, as well as our staff and fellow guests, we cannot offer PetSpa services to any pet wearing a head cone; that has bandages, stitches, is in heat, or has any type of contagious condition. We may also decline to groom or bathe any pet that requires a sedative, as we feel your local veterinary clinic may better administer that service.

How long is the average grooming appointment?
We estimate the average grooming session to last five hours. Grooming times however vary depending on your pet’s size, coat, and their temperament. Please bear in mind that in order to maximize the number of pets we see in a day, it does require our staff to multitask. Sometimes that means washing another pet while your pup dries.

Why is my dog tired after getting groomed?
Although we make every effort to ensure your pet’s time with us is a luxurious experience, it is perfectly normal for them to be tired upon returning home. Senior pets in particular are likely to be tired following a service. This is because grooming services require your pet to be on their feet longer than their typical day, and that can be exhausting. Our staff is of course mindful of this, offering regular breaks and treats to keep kittens purring and tails wagging.
